Stuart Crane is a seasoned entrepreneur of 30 years.
Stuart began his career in 1986 working at Battelle Memorial Institute, the world’s largest non-profit research organization, in Columbus, Ohio. Specializing in technologies such as smart cards and automatic vehicle identification, Stuart moved into database management and software development work.
After leaving Battelle and building numerous database applications for business clients in the Columbus area, Stuart founded Definitive Homecare Solutions in 1993, a software company focused on automating the business of home infusion and specialty pharmacy. Stuart and his partner, Jeff Johnston, started the company with $400 in Stuart’s basement, and grew it successfully for over 20 years.
As the business grew and sustained high profits, DHS amassed an 80%+ market-share in the home infusion and specialty pharmacy industry, as well as undertaking several acquisitions along the way.
Stuart and Jeff sold the company in an all-cash deal in July of 2013 to Mediware Information Systems, a healthcare software company backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo. At the time of the acquisition, D.H.S. had revenues of over $15M/year and a staff of 75 full-time employees.
After enjoying a brief stint at retirement, Stuart dove heads-first into the world of voice technologies, beginning with Alexa and the Amazon Echo. Seeing an opportunity to bring voice capabilities to businesses, he began to design a software platform to deliver key business information to professionals – just by asking.
Voice Metrics was created -- allowing businesses to use voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and Cortana to retrieve their KPI’s, metrics, and business updates via voice.
As the voice revolution continues to grow and become more engrained in people’s lives, Voice Metrics aims to help businesses quickly get the information they need.
Join Stuart in his vision to voice-enable the world of business information.
